**Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced supervisor with structural mechanical background to support Air Force sustainment programs in Rolling Meadows, IL. The scope of systems maintained includes ground and aircraft ancillary systems. Supervised activities include mechanical assembly repairs, structural repairs, mechanical part milling, mechanical modifications, painting.**

**Are you ready to put your years of management experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems Sector wants you to join us as an Model Shop Supervisor in support of our Sustainment Program.**

**In this position, you will provide objective-oriented direction and work assignment to non-exempt team members utilizing management guidelines & general policies of the sustainment program located in Rolling Meadows, IL.**

**Your responsibilities will include:**

+ **Provide supervision and direction to mechanical maintenance personnel in carrying out maintenance functions as required maximizing efficiency and minimizing work hours and errors.**

+ **Ensure that assigned maintenance work is performed as directed and is properly documented.**

+ **Monitor and control program materials and maintenance labor expenses with regard to program requirements and limitations, according to instructions, plans, budgets, and schedules.**

+ **Oversee the correct use of tools and equipment required to accomplish assigned tasks efficiently, properly, and safely.**

+ **Serve as liaison with other teams to ensure proper coordination of support efforts and availability of required information.**

+ **Ensure work progress is accurately documented as directed to include stamps, signatures, and references per site SOPs.**

+ **Review estimates for all non-routine maintenance requests and communicate any major defects or findings to program management.**

+ **Initiate and recommend approval of personnel actions including PTO, expense reports, payroll, pay changes, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and leaves of absence.**

+ **Interview, select, and/or recommend hire of employees. Provide appropriate training for departmental personnel.**

+ **Document, report, and investigate all accidents in accordance with established policy and procedures.**

+ **Provide dynamic front line management to a team of direct reports.**

+ **Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures with regard to all department functions.**

**Basic Qualifications:**

A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; Military training with a minimum of 8 yrs of relevant experience, may also be considered.

High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of related experience in related field will also be considered.

A minimum of Five (5) years of management experience Ability to pass the required Dept of Homeland Security Background Investigation.

Ability to perform your duties in a closed area, wearing the required safety gear in a variety of physical conditions.

Knowledge in at least one of the primary repair processes (milling, assembly, painting)

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.

Ability to participate in cross functional teams.

Ability to analyze job requests and provide detailed quotes based on materials, labor, machine utilization and workload.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Experience working in ERP and MES systems.

A current DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher).

Experience in the sustainment of military systems and equipment. Experience with military equipment logistics, technical manuals, and quality standards. Eight (8) years of management experience.

Salary Range: $93,100.00 - $139,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
