Currently we have an opening for an engineer position to work within the Space team in Honeywell Czech Republic.
The area of research and development is the design of advanced electronics Space Systems including complex control SW.
In the role, the engineer will be asked to get acquainted with the system device principle, design SW architecture based on the mission requirements and lead the implementation activities.
In addition, the engineer is expected to participate in the development of new concepts and technologies for future space products. This will include understanding the customer requirements, translating those into device and product requirements, performing trade studies, writing research and development proposals and potentially project and team management.
Currently there are several projects targeting space and aerospace under execution. The main customers are commercial space customers, Honeywell International s.r.o. and European Space Agency.This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, 2 from home.

**Key Responsibilities**
Perform embedded / application software (e.g. C, C++, C#, Matlab):
+ Requirements and architecture modification / creation
+ Code modification / creation (includes debugging and troubleshooting)
+ Test cases, procedures, and scripts modification / creation, qualification support, execution of tests (both informal and formal runs)
+ Documentation creation
+ Development / test environment setup
Ensure assigned technical tasks are completed on-time and within given requirements
Actively identify new technological opportunities that will help achieve incremental or step change improvements
**Key requirements**
+ Knowledge of software development processes and best practices
+ Experience with embedded / application software development (e.g. C, C++, C#, Matlab) and design / test automation
+ Knowledge of software design tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect
+ Knowledge of software configuration management tools (e.g. ClearCase, SVN, Git)
+ Knowledge of software design tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect)
**We value**
+ Experience with project planning and effort estimation is a plus
+ Knowledge of space SW standards such as ESA ECSS is a plus
+ Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python) is a plus
+ Knowledge of change management tools (e.g. ClearQuest) is a plus
+ Knowledge of test management tools (e.g. TestLink) is a plus
+ Design of advanced control algorithms combining different control objectives (performance improvements, compensation of environmental effects, etc.) is a plus
+ Planning and execution of the validation test campaign
+ Good command of the English language
+ Strong aptitude for Research & Development
+ Matlab/Simulink experience
